Eczema describes a number of persistent skin conditions where the affected person experiences skin rashes. Eczema is inflamation of the epidermis.  Syptoms include, redness, swelling, itching, and blistering of the skin. The  affected person may experience oozing and bleeding as well.  
Living with eczema can be a chore.  For severe cases, you  have to monitor everything that you do daily.  Small things can cause a large flare up.

The most common forms of eczema include:
- Atopic eczema  -  is an allergic disease, with an itchy rash most commonly on the head, scalp, neck, inside of elbows, and behind the knees,
- Contact dermatitis – is a skin disease caused by either some allergen (poison oak is a good example) or some irritant like too much sun exposure.
- Xerotic eczema – is related to severe, dry skin
- Seborrhoeic dermatitis – is a form of eczema which is closely related to dandruff.
