Pregnancy


Pregnancy is an exciting time for parents, but it can also be scary.¬† Learning more about what to expect is very helpful to a woman who is pregnant for the first time. ¬†Below are some basic “Dos” and “Don’ts” for pregancy.

DO:

¬†¬† – Read up on pregnancy and making the right choices for your baby.
¬†¬† – Schedule regular visits with your healthcare provider. Prenatal care is very important.
¬†¬† – Drink plenty of fluids.
¬†¬† – Get plenty of rest.
¬†¬† – Check with you doctor with any prescribed medication you are taking as some can have adverse affects.
¬†¬† – Eat a health diet.
¬†¬† – Prepare yourself for things like morning sickness and nausea. If you have questions on what to do, be sure to ask.
¬†¬† – Exercise can be great for you.¬†
¬†¬† – If you get too exhausted to exercise or you feel ill, you should ask for medical advice on what is appropriate.

DON’T:

¬†¬† – Smoking and drinking should be avoided.
¬†¬† – Don’t use drugs. Even prescribed medications should be evaluated. Ask you doctor if medications you use are appropriate during pregnancy.
¬†¬† – Don’t overdo it.¬† It is common to feel exhausted during pregnancy. While it is o.k. to be active, you will need prenty of rest.
